The five NHS trusts in Lancashire and South Cumbria have a joint vision to improve services through collaboration. This includes developing a joint vision for more collaborative central services. Central services include non-clinical services such as HR and OD, procurement, strategy, communications, digital and finance, legal and governance. The aim is to ensure central services across all five trusts support better patient care and offer our colleagues a great place to work, as well as building resilience across all services.
Earlier this year the Provider Collaborative Board (PCB) Joint Committee agreed that these services would be brought together into one ‘umbrella’ service known as ONE LSC, to be hosted by one of our NHS Trusts - which has been nominated as East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust. The project is still in its infancy and has many steps to go. As soon as more information is released, an update will be issued to all staff across all five Trusts As an organisation, collaboration is nothing new for the LPC and the scope we have to expand our existing collaboration network is an exciting prospect we can all look forward to.
