In light of ongoing visiting restrictions, the Trusts would like to clarify the position for commercial visitors (company representatives, trainers and contractors) coming onto site.  The arrangements are as below:

 Suppliers and representatives:

Suppliers and representatives are only allowed onto site for emergency support – e.g. supporting emergency cases in theatres. They are not permitted to visit more than one clinician if they come onto site. All suppliers must contact Procurement for authorisation at LPCProcurement@elht.nhs.uk prior to any site visit.  All authorised suppliers visiting site must book in on the IntelliCentrics website (credentialing system) used by the Trust; if they fail to do this, they will not be allowed onto site.

Trainers:

Face-to-face training should take place only for essential clinical training, and only where that training cannot be provided virtually.  All other training should remain on line for the current phase of restrictions.  External trainers should only come onto site where face-to-face training is essential and the training cannot be provided by a Trust trainer.

Contractors and Sub-Contractors:

Contractors and sub-contractors are allowed on site to undertake essential or emergency maintenance of business critical or clinical equipment, or planned maintenance of such equipment which is time critical and cannot be deferred.

All commercial visitors to the sites must comply with the Trust’s arrangements for PPE, social distancing etc., must have evidence of a negative Covid test taken within the past 48 hours (this can be a lateral flow home test registered through the government website), and must register their contact details for contact tracing.

Any queries regarding whether a visit is permitted can be directed to the relevant Trusts Covid email :

These arrangements are expected to remain in place until visiting is reinstated.
