Mike joined the NHS in 2007 following on from procurement and supply chain roles in the oil & gas and defence industries. After holding a number of Head of Procurement posts in trusts in the North West his interest in continuous improvement and waste reduction led to a move into service development and reconfiguration roles, firstly at the NHS North west Procurement Development office and, since 2016, at the Lancashire Procurement Cluster. The role of Deputy Director has offered fantastic opportunities to shape a new and progressive model for NHS procurement in the region. When time allows his favourite place to be is walking and mountaineering in the Scottish highlands.
